Rachel’s Kids House of Hope is proud to offer a service in creating PECS (Picture Exchange Communication Systems) for families, EA's, ECE's SSW's, PSW's DSW"s, daycares / pre-schools and anyone looking to apply PECS as a daily form of augmentative and / or alternative form of communication. While the system is commonly used as a communication aid for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), it has been used with a wide variety of learners, from preschoolers to adults, who have various communicative, cognitive, and physical impairments, including Cerebral Palsy, Blindness, and Deafness.
This initiative serves to create PECS specifically to meet the client's needs in order to better help them and families develop a highly effective communication system in both French and English. 100% of the proceeds from your donations for PECS are re-invested in the center.
PECS are utilized daily by many families and professionals as a comprehensive tool to create and implement routine such as daily eating schedules, bath routines, washing hands, “Now-Then-Later", Sequential PECs, anxiety kits, good choice reinforcement sticker systems, potty training, visiting the doctor or dentist… the list goes on. Our team can help build these for your special child or student based on their specific needs, interests and routines.
Teaching aids are an integral component in any classroom, daycare, camp and home. The many benefits of teaching aids include helping learners improve comprehension skills, illustrating or reinforcing a skill or concept, differentiating instruction and relieving anxiety or boredom by presenting information in a new and exciting way through vibrant and interactive visuals. Our Teaching Aids are very popular and can be tailored to meet the needs of your student, client or child in both French and English.
